Empirical Memory plugin.
The required core package: native Empirical memory guidance plus the hosted MCP connection.
What it changes
Install this core package when a supported coding agent should understand Empirical memory and discover the Empirical MCP tools. It supplies native memory guidance and connection registration; it does not replace your agent or store a transcript of every session.
- Use it for supported coding-agent workflows that need durable project context
- Install it before adding optional Work History, Scar Tissue, or Todo plugins
- Do not install it for a client that is not listed as supported
Install
Register the Empirical marketplace, then install the core package for the selected agent. The CLI shares this pathway with the full installer.
empirical plugin install all
# Or use the native agent marketplace command
# empirical-memory@empirical-memory
Authentication and boundaries
The agent client owns the MCP OAuth handshake. The CLI's empirical auth login is a separate local CLI session; headless OAuth is for automation. The plugin does not make unsupported clients compatible or grant access beyond the authenticated account.
Related setup: Use the client-specific install page for supported clients. Use headless CI guidance for bots and containers.
