Empirical Docs / Workflows

Bring Markdown notes into Empirical.

If your notes are already just files, this is the cleanest path. Markdown is the easiest source to reason about and the least likely to create connector complexity you do not need.

Why markdown is the best starter path

This page explains a manual source workflow: keep Markdown files where they are, select the durable notes that should follow you into AI tools, and record concise memories in Empirical. It is not a Markdown importer or live file-sync connector.

Use this when: You already keep project notes in files and want a low-risk way to promote only high-value context into Empirical.

Workflow

Use a notes folder as your raw source. Read from it locally, select durable passages, and write concise memories into Empirical rather than ingesting every line.

  • Keep source files where they already live
  • Review and select only durable notes
  • Record concise summaries instead of dumping raw pages

Recommended shape

Use a short title, one-sentence summary, and optional source pointer. The memory should be understandable even if the original markdown file is not open beside it.
